Building on the Scottish pilot work , in 2011-2012, The Higher Education Academy and NUS collaborated to extend the initiative to students’ unions from all over the UK. In total 21 SUs were selected from a competitive call to run their own student-led teaching awards (SLTA) projects, aiming to raise the profile and prestige of learning and teaching at their institution in a positive way through rewarding best practice.
