Top Tips for Teaching Awards

In the meantime, here are some top tips for successful awards:

“Plan your timings so that the nomination window doesn’t clash with too many other things, especially Easter!”

“Work with your institution but agree the terms of your partnership early on in the year. This will avoid any confusion about who has agreed to do what.”

“Make the categories nice and clear to students. Ensure you present them inaccessible language.”

“Ensure you let staff know what’s going on and that it’s a really positive scheme.”

“If you’re planning some kind of awards event, set a date early and get it into the diaries of people like the Vice-Chancellor!”

“Use your course reps and student volunteers for not only promotion but also planning the awards. This will make the process even more student-led.”

“Get out and promote the awards, but get people to nominate online.”
