Student Led Teaching Awards
Recognising Excellence in Professional Services
NUS, in collaboration with the Association of University Administrators (AUA), have developed a template award that can be used by students’ unions to recognise and reward excellence in institutional support staff.
This briefing sets out to support unions to recognise and reward excellence in professional services staff alongside their academic counterparts, in the context of student-led awards. It uses the term ‘professional services’ to refer to all support staff, administrators, secretaries and anyone else responsible for the management of the education environment that is not employed in a teaching capacity.
The Association of University Administrators (AUA), in partnership with NUS, have harnessed their Professional Behaviours Framework to evolve criteria for an award for excellent professional services staff. This award is designed to sit alongside other student-led teaching awards.
Feel free to make use of these criteria, but get in touch with Oliver Williams at NUS if you do so that the uptake can be recorded.
